Marianne Delores Juntunen

Marianne Delores Juntunen, age 87, of Carlton, MN, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2026.

Marianne Fisher was born on on August 8, 1938, in Tarrytown, NY, to Jesse and Mary (Kosilla) Fisher.  When her mom passed away, she moved to Minnesota to live with her dad and there she met and married her sweetheart, Denny Juntunen, in 1957.  She was extremely happy to marry into such a large and loving family.  She enjoyed reading, walking if there was a destination, and cooking.  Until her final days she continued cooking her homemade spaghetti sauce.  Nothing gave her more joy than being with her family and her greatest desire was that everyone would know how much Jesus loved them.

Marianne was preceded in death by the love of her life, Dennis Juntunen, as well as her parents, and sister, Madeleine.

Marianne is survived by her son, Richard Juntunen of Carlton, MN; daughters, Rebecca (Michael) Plante of Duluth, MN, and Jennifer (Todd) Opperman of Kansas; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Celebration of Life for Marianne will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Esko, MN, with a time for Visitation one hour before the service.  Inurnment will take place at a later date.
