Phyllis Marian Bohren

Phyllis Marian Bohren, 94, of Duluth, MN, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Ecumen Lakeshore in Duluth. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 11 AM St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Esko, MN. A visitation will occur one hour prior. Burial will take place at the Minnesota Veterans Cemetery in Saginaw, MN, at a later date.

Phyllis Marian Bohren was born on September 22, 1931 to Hulda (Lindberg) and Philip Paulson in Blackhoof, MN. She was raised in Blackhoof and served as an English teacher in Esko, MN, for many years. In 1955, Phyllis married Roy Bohren and raised their two children.

Phyllis is survived by her children Alan (Carla) Bohren and Cheryl (Russ) LaCourse; grandchildren Cheryl (Mike LaCount) Bohren, Allison (Corey) Bunch, Rebecca (Nathan) Schmidt, Emily (Joah) Schwecke, and Peter (Emilee Meyer) LaCourse; great grandchildren Avery Bunch, Marisa Schmidt, Vincent Schmidt, Conrad Schmidt, and Willa Schwecke; and brother Richard (Geraldine) Paulson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; parents Hulda and Philip; siblings Hazel, Carl, Harold, Ardelle, Frank, and Nancie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Esko.
