Bruce Miller

Well Bruce is gone, and he wanted to take thisOPPORTUNITY to wish all his friends and family a fond farewell. He didn't want you to feel sorry for him, because he had had a happy and fun life. He was born December 21, 1935 near Tallahassee Fl. When he was in high school he met the Iove of his life Darlene Andrews. After he graduated from High school he went into the Army and became a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division. He was then sent to Panama to be trained in jungle warfare and survival. He successfully completed the training and awarded the Jungle Expert patch. In typical military fashion he was then sent to the Bavarian Alps in Germany for combat and survival training in the mountains and snow. During this time Darlene and he got married on November 26, 1955 and she joined him in Germany where they lived for about eighteen months. When he was discharged he enrolled in Florida State University. With theHELP from Darlene and the GI Bill he was able to graduate with a degree in Mathematics and Physics. He went to work for NASA in 1961 and it was the job of his dreams. He loved his work and was able to participate in the making of history in the early days of the space industry. From the days of project Mercury through the operational phase of the Shuttle. Most of his time was spentIN MANAGEMENT of a Computer Operations facility processing engineering data for all Launch Vehicles. Among all of his accolades he was most proud of the NASA Exceptional Service Medal awarded in 1973. He retired after 31 years of service. The worst day of his life was September 4, 2013 when he lost his beloved wife Darlene. They had been married 57 years and his heart was broken. Then he had another worst day of his life. August 12, 2014 he lost his Son, David "Bodie" Miller. Bodie had a terribleMOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT back in 1999 which left him paralyzed and eventually caused his death. He is survived by his beloved grandson Stephen Bodie Miller and his mother Yvette, his brother Park "Randy" Miller (Wendy), his sister Constance Marie Hudson (David), and their families. The way he felt about life is best said in aQUOTE from Benjamin Franklin and goes like this. "I believe I shall, in some shape or other, always exist; and with all the inconveniences human life is liable to, I shall not object to a new edition of mine, Hoping. however, that the errata of the last may be corrected."
