Evelyn Allawas

Evelyn Allawas, 80, died on Saturday, June 18, 2011 in her home on Merritt Island, surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren and close family and friends. Evelyn was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Brevard County in 1958. After years as a homemaker, Evelyn began a career at Pan American World Airways. She and Amil then traveled the world until they retired in 1989 and moved to Las Vegas. They enjoyed a carefree life in Vegas until 2005, when their children finally convinced them to return home. Evelyn is survived by her sister, Lorraine; her adoring children: Lia, Charleen, Barbara, Amil and Andrea; her wonderful sons-in-law, Bill and Ken; daughter-in-law, Donna; extraordinary grandchildren, Amil, Ricky, Danielle, Tyler, Rayner, Emily and Kenny; her niece Meryl (and husband, David); and many more loving nieces and nephews; along with the many others to whom she opened her heart and her home. Evelyn has joined her beloved husband, Amil, who left this earth in 2007. Services will be held on Saturday, June 25th at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 1940 N. Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island, Florida. There will be visitation in the chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the church at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, our family hopes you will consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital ; Divine Mercy Catholic Academy or Hospice of St. Francis.
