Tamela Joyce Nelson

On October 14, 2026, Tamela Joyce Nelson went to be with her God and Savior Jesus Christ. Tamela was born in Syracuse New York to Jim and Muriel Partridge and lived in western New York for many years. She was married to her husband Jayson in 1982 and lived in Rochester before moving to Tucson in 2014.

She was a loving and compassionate person, dedicated to living a life that brings glory and honor to God. Tamela was a talented artist and musician, having degrees in studio art as a ceramicist, and in vocal performance where she performed with several groups in the Rochester area. She was always involved in church and had a passion for helping others. Tamela worked closely with the Sunrise Neighborhood Assistance Program (SNAP) in Tucson, assisting the elderly with the challenges that life often brings.

Tamela is survived by her husband Jayson, sisters Jeanne, Pat, Sherry, Sue, and Kathy, and brothers Chuck, Ken, David, Donald, and Edward, along with many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Friday, October 23rd from 4-7 PM at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home, 2584 Field Lane, Lafayette, New York.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24 at 10 AM at the Fabius Christian Church, 7803 Main Street, Fabius New York.

Burial will follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens in DeWitt, New York.
