Barbara Johnson

Barbara Johnson, 57, of the Onondaga Nation Snipe Clan, passed away June 18th 2026 at SUNY Upstate Medical University. To anyone who knew her, Barbara was a shining light always there to care for and help as many people as she could. Her true passion was her family, as she enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandson Ezra.

Barbara was predeceased by her, husband, David Jacabowicz, mother, Caroline J. Wilbur, step-father, Tom Oakes and step-brother, Wayne Oakes.

She is survived by her son, Nathan Crane, sister, Vanessa (Carrie Thomas) Oakes, brothers, Thomas Oakes Sr. and Loren Oakes, nieces, Cierra and Cienna (Nate) Oakes, nephews, Thomas Jr. great-nephew, Karl, other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Calling Hours will be held from 4PM to 7PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina St Syracuse.

A funeral service will be on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at10AM, also at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Onondaga Nation Cemetery Hemlock rd.
