Daniel Raymond Moses

February 14, 1974 — April 25, 2026

Daniel Raymond Moses, his mom’s forever Valentine’s Day baby, was born on February 14, 1974. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026, surrounded by the people who loved him most.

Danny was one of a kind. A devoted son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who lived life big, with a big heart, big personality and big presence. He was extremely generous. He loved hard, joked often and made sure his family knew exactly how much they meant to him.

A proud ironworker with Local 60, Danny was an extremely hard worker who truly loved what he did and was honored to carry on the family tradition that meant so much to him. Outside of work, you could usually find him cheering on his beloved San Francisco 49ers and New York Yankees or enjoying the company of animals. He had a soft spot for all of them.

His greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his parents, Shirley and Raymond Moses of Nedrow; his sons, Christopher (Carley) Moses of Nedrow and Tristan Moses of Syracuse; his granddaughters, Eliza and Olive, who absolutely lit up his world.

He is also survived by his sisters, Melissa (William) Chiles of Liverpool and Sarah (Jonathan) Buckshot of Nedrow; his brother, Andrew (Kay) Moses of Camillus; along with seven nieces, four nephews and one great-nephew who all received a little extra love and a lot of extra teasing from Uncle Danny; and the woman he loved, Helene Weber, who meant the world to him.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Albert and Hazel Clark; and his paternal grandparents, Wilfred Moses and Bernice Powless.

Danny’s life reminds us to love big, live loud and never take things too seriously. He will be deeply missed, always loved and never forgotten.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home in Syracuse. A funeral service will follow at 4:30 p.m. Family and friends are then invited to continue celebrating Danny’s life at the Nedrow Volunteer Fire Department to share stories, laughter and memories together.

Born on a day known for love, Danny lived a life defined by it, giving his whole heart to his family and those lucky enough to know him.
