Louis F. Karb

Louis F. Karb, 92 of Syracuse passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026. Louis was a graduate of Onondaga Central High School and participated in multiple basketball championships. He was an Army Veteran and retired from Carrier Corp. after 40 years of service. Louis was an avid fisherman and baseball fan. He loved to watch the Yankees lose and the Red Sox win. He was well loved and appreciated for his dry wit, easy going nature and patience.

Louis was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Karb, in 2017; and son in law, Ray Churchill; a brother, Eugene Karb; and a sister, Frances Adams.

He is survived by his daughters, Lori Churchill and Julie Karb; grandchildren, Kaleigh and Shannon Churchill; a brother, Richard Karb; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours will be Monday, August 17, 2025 from 4-7PM at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Syracuse, NY. Services will be Tuesday, August 18, 2026, 10AM at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home. 10:30AM at Our Lady or Hope Church, Syracuse, NY.

Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Louis’s name to Meals on Wheels.
