Carolyn Catherine Doherty

Aug 20, 1940 — Sep 2, 2026

Carol Doherty passed away peacefully, holding the hand of her beloved husband, Jack. It was a fitting goodbye for a woman whose greatest gifts were love, devotion, and the ability to make the people around her feel cared for.

Carol was a loving and devoted wife to Jack and a cherished mother to her girls, Terry, Maureen, and Jackie. Her family was the center of her world, and she never missed an opportunity to show them how much they meant to her. She gave the kind of hugs that could make everything feel a little better, and her sweet smile could light up a room.

Carol was funny, smart, creative, and wonderfully talented. She was, without question, the smartest person in the family—especially when it came to Jeopardy!. She routinely beat the rest of them, leaving everyone else wondering why they had even bothered to compete.

Carol loved teddy bears, and she didn’t just collect them—she gave each one a name, because apparently every teddy bear deserved its own identity and place in the family. Her teddy bears reflected the warmth and imagination she brought to everything she did.

She was incredibly artistic and spent countless hours creating beautiful homemade cards. And if you were lucky enough to know Carol, you knew she never forgot a birthday. Not yours, not mine, not anybody’s. She had a remarkable memory for the people she loved and made sure they knew they were remembered.

Carol was also famous for her gravy—a family treasure in its own right. Her homemade gravy was made with love, and perhaps a little bit of magic, and will be remembered (and missed) around many a family table.

Above all, Carol was a woman who loved deeply and gave generously. She created a home filled with laughter, creativity, good food, warm hugs, and the feeling that you mattered. Her family and friends will miss her humor, her beautiful smile, her incredible mind, her thoughtful cards, and, of course, her gravy.

Carol leaves behind her beloved husband, Jack, and her daughters, Terry, Maureen (Peter), Jackie (Kurt), 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who will carry her love and memory with them always.

And somewhere, we hope, Carol is surrounded by all her teddy bears—each one properly named, of course.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on September 11th, 2026, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic, Florida, with burial to follow at Florida Memorial Garden Cemetery in Rockledge, Florida. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
