Dan Eugene Ingram
April 28, 1937 — May 30, 2026
Dan Eugene Ingram, 89, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in Melbourne, Florida.
He will be cremated, with a private family visitation held. Later this year, he will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife, George Ann, at the Hillsboro-Leiper’s Fork Community Cemetery in Tennessee.
Born in Franklin, Tennessee, Dan spent his childhood in both Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee and Rock Island, Illinois. He briefly attended Lipscomb University in Nashville, where he met the love of his life, George Ann Wolfe. He later graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island with a degree in engineering, putting his education to use throughout his career at John Deere in Moline, Illinois. Dan and George Ann, who raised their family in Moline, eventually settled in Coal Valley, Illinois.
Dan, the ultimate handyman, was always working on a project and always eager to help others with theirs. After retirement, they first moved to Fort Myers, Florida, and later to Melbourne.
He is survived by his children, Paul, Philip, and Pam; daughter-in-law Diane; son-in-law Kent; and grandchildren Zachary and Loral, who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Charlotte and many nieces and nephews—Randy, Roxanne, Terry, Vivian, Betty, Jeff, Ron, Donna, Lynn, Steve, and Mark—each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife, George Ann; parents, Murray and Evelyn; siblings and their spouses—James (Rita), Ruth (Bob), Elizabeth (Pete), and Dorothy; his brother-in-law John; and nephew Russ. Dan will be remembered for his deep devotion to his family and faith, quiet strength, and a sense of humor that made him easy to love and impossible to forget.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to organizations supporting Alzheimer’s research.
