Daniel Allen Swahlan, Sr.

Daniel Allen Swahlan Sr., age 87, passed away peacefully at home on May 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and the faith that guided his life.

Born and raised in Nassau New York, Daniel developed a lifelong passion for ice hockey during his youth and played competitively with great pride and determination. It was also in Nassau where he met Vivian, the love of his life. Their love story began in their hometown and blossomed into a remarkable marriage of 67 years after they wed in 1958. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, devotion, and enduring partnership.

Daniel was a man of deep Christian faith who accepted Christ as his Savior and remained steadfast in his beliefs throughout his life. He was an avid reader of the Bible and found comfort, wisdom, and strength in Scripture. His quiet faith and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life reflected humility, commitment, and compassion.

Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Vivian Swahlan; his sons, Daniel Swahlan Jr. and wife Virginia, and Bruce Swahlan and wife JoAnne; his daughters, Sue Garrison and husband George, and Cindy Grenier and husband David; his nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and his brother, Richard Swahlan.

Daniel’s legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the faith he carried throughout his life. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
