Genevieve Benedicta Monaghan

Monaghan, Genevieve was called home to the Lord on November 27, 2019. She is survived by her children Michael (Nancy) , Kathy Parrado (Bobby), Maureen Alexander Hastings (Mark), Timothy (Pam) and Margaret Horchar (Ed). Daughter Teresa Kalarovich (dec'd.). She had 14 grandchildren, Bobby and Jeffrey Parrado, Elizabeth, John, Mary and Joseph Monaghan, Patrick Monaghan, Abigail Horchar, Laurel, Kevin, and Austin Alexander; Aaron and Adam Kalarovich, and Tara Lackey (dec'd.), and 12 great grandchildren. Genevieve was Catholic, and born in Chico, Calif. in 1921. She was a wonderful Mother and wife of Lt.Col Edward Monaghan (Ret). We were an Air Force family stationed throughout the US and Japan. Mother made sure that we quickly adapted to new schools, encouraged all 6 of us to earn college degrees, and took us to doctors, piano lessons, swimming practice, and scout meetings. She was an airline stewardess and became expert in Ikebana flower arranging and Japanese cooking. A visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019 from 12-1:30pm at Beach Funeral Homes-East, Indian Harbour Beach with a service to begin at 1:30pm. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Palm Bay. Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to World Wildlife Federation or Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School
