Joan Hadley Perreault
Jul 20, 1952 — Aug 23, 2026
Joan Hadley Perreault, 74, of Indialantic, Florida, passed away peacefully at Zon Beachside in Indian Harbor Beach on August 23, 2026. Joan was born on July 20th, 1952, to Elmer and Doris Anderson of Bridgewater, Massachusetts. She met Lawrence "Larry" Perreault, at the University of New Hampshire where they formed a lifelong friendship and enduring bond, marrying in the late summer of 1974. Joan went on to work for Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire where she would become laboratory manager. Joan would transition to corporate medical technology and a career that made her a welcome and familiar face at hospitals across this county. She would rise to System Projects Manager for Beckman Coulter before retiring in 2011.
In 1999, Joan and Larry swapped the crisp fall evenings in Milton, New Hampshire for easy Christmas walks in shorts in Indialantic and spent the next three decades putting Martha Stewart to shame. On the terraces to the pond or all around the pool, Joan was well known by all those who loved her to be happiest looking over her flowers in the evening light, though set up with a good book is a close second.
Joan would tell you that despite 42 years of marriage her story could easily be told without Larry, but that she wouldn’t want it to be. Heavyweight equals in sharpness of wit and quickness of tongue; their partnership, love, and respect were as complete as every crossword on the table.
Larry preceded Joan in death in 2017 and by her parents; her niece, Alexandra Mills, her sister-in-law, Donna Mills; her brother-in-law Kenneth Perrreault and her parents-in-law, Leo and Betty Perreault (Hanratty), and parent out-law Robert “Bob” Hanratty. She is survived by Dennis and Joanne Perreault of Kansas City, Kansas and Timothy Mills of Wayne, Maine; nieces Lauren (Jason) Weber of Auburn, Kansas and Sarah Perreault of Kansas City, Kansas, nephew James (Melanie) Perreault of Brockport, New York and many great nieces and nephews.
Joan will be remembered for her creativity, sense of humor, and the lifetime of love she shared with family. She will be deeply missed but we rejoice in her reunion with Larry, someone had to keep him in line.
