Jon David England, 68, of Melbourne, Florida passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 in Tampa, Florida.
Jon was born November 1, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio and was raised in Bradenton, Florida. He attended Tulane University, in New Orleans were he graduated with a bachelors degree in engineering. Jon started his engineering career at Raditaion in Melbourne, Fl which is now Harris Corporation. He was a Systems Engineer at Harris Corporation for over 35 years. During his career he received numerous engineering and patent awards.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years; Judy; daughter and son in-law Kelly and Steve Creagan; daughter Melanie England; son and daughter in-law Jon Thomas England and Courtney Jennings; daughter and son in-law Tara and Steve Matecki. Surviving grandchildren are: Katie and Emily Rainbolt, Jon Logan England, and Alexander Matecki. Surviving siblings are: sister Janet Gadoury of Bradenton, Fl; brother and sister in-law John and Helyn Birge of Holmes Beach, Fl; brother and sister in-law Kent England and Janice Lawrence of Sarasota, Fl; and sister and brother in-law Ginger and Bill Sandhoff of Bradenton, Fl. He is survived by seven nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph England and Melanie Richardson England, special aunt and guardian Freda Richardson Birge, and his brother George Birge.
Family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 25 2011 at Wesley United Methodist Church. The memorial service will be immediately following visitation at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Leonard officiating.
