Lawrence Orr, 93, passed away on May 3, 2011 at Wuesthoff Hospice Care Center. Larry was preceeded in death by his wife of 56 years, Florine; and his sister Lorraine O'Donnell. He is survived by his children, Lawrence E. Orr, III, Karen Faye Briggs and James Michael Orr; his daughter-in-law, Deborah Gerken Orr; his brother Richard S. (Julie) Orr; grandchildren, Dawn Marie (Dean) Campion, Karen Ann (Brady) Wunsch, Elizabeth Deanne (Bryan) McCombs and Jennifer Diane (Andrew) Ross; and great-grandchildren, Sydney and Samantha Wunsch, Sutton and Ainsley Ross and Patrick Campion.
He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 15, 1917. He served 32 years in the United States Army and defended his country in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. After his service, he retired to Satellite Beach and spent 25 years teaching Business Law at Rollins College.
Larry loved baseball, crossword puzzles and reading. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who loved being surrounded by family.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Beach Funeral Home, 1689 S. Patrick Drive, Indian Harbour Beach. Funeral Service will begin at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Entombment to follow the service at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge.
