Margaret "Sullivan" Olde

Margaret "Peggy" Sullivan Olde departed this earth and entered into eternal rest on February 22, 2020 at the age of 97. Peggy was born in Elizabeth, NJ on July 24, 1922 to the late Victor and Margaret "Elsie" Sullivan. Peggy graduated from NJ public schools and took a position as a "typist" at the Bayway refinerey in Bayway NJ where she met the love of her life. She married Warren T. Olde on January 1, 1945 in Denver, Colorado, and subsequently made Cranford, NJ their home. Throughout their happy 66 years of marriage, Warren's employment provided opportunities for them to live in many parts of the world, including France, Germany, England, Texas, Montana, California and Venezuela before retiring to Florida in 1984. Warren predeceased her in 2011. Peggy was a resident of Suntree/Viera for over 32 years. She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting and playing golf, but she derived even more enjoyment from from her volunteer work at Suntree United Methodist Church as an active member of the "The Dorcas Circle," a group of approximately 50 women who meet monthly for the purpose of doing community service; this is where she learned about "The Daily Bread" an organization that in 1987 was founded as a soup kitchen to feed the poor, the hungry and the home-less, in the Melbourne area. She subsequently volunteered there for many years, as she believed it was important to help those less fortunate. She is survived by four of their five sons: Warren T. Olde, Jr. (Connie) of Pennington, NJ; Gordon F. Olde (Susan) of Melbourne, FL; Peter J. Olde (Scott B. Clark) of Estero, FL, and his twin Paul M. Olde (Christie) of New Braunfels, TX. Gordon's twin, Gary V. Olde of New York City, NY, passed away in 1992. She is also survived by her wonderful grandchildren including, Victoria Olde Voris (Jeffrey), Melissa Olde Wetzel (R.J.), Lisa Olde, Gordon Olde, Jr. (Jenny), Matthew R. Olde (Sarah), Samantha Olde and Paul M. Olde, Jr. (Kerstin) and 13 great grandchildren, Abigail, Rebecca, Kaelyn and Layna Gelston; Malorie, Jack "J.T.", William "Liam" Voris; James Olde; Aiden Wetzel; Reagan, War-ren "Patch" and Sybil Olde; Ace Olde. In addition she is survived by her brother Richard (Sonya) Fisher of Leesburg, FL. Margaret was predeceased by her brothers Walter Fisher (Judy) of Brookfield, CT and Harold Fisher (Jane) of Somerset, NJ. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7 at 11:00 AM at Suntree United Methodist Church, 7400 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Daily Bread, Inc., 815 East Fee Avenue, Melbourne, FL 32901 or Suntree United Methodist Church, "The Dorcas Circle" 7400 N. Wickham Rd. Melbourne, FL 32940. Final resting place will be alongside her beloved husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Beach Funeral Home, Melbourne, Florida.
