Marinus Troast
December 28, 1932 — June 12, 2026
Marinus Troast, affectionately known as “Rin,” of Melbourne, Florida, peacefully passed away on June 12, 2026, at the age of 93, surrounded by his loving family.
Rin was a proud member of the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1954, he married the love of his life, Kathleen Redmond. After his service, he became a successful businessman in New Jersey before moving his family to Clewiston, Florida, where he and Kathleen owned and operated a thriving campground.
Rin and Kathleen raised five children and built a life filled with faith, family, and friendship. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen, and his son, Glenn Troast. He is survived by his children, Marianne (John) Duke, Laura (Bernard) Schramm, Kathy (Bo) Nestor, and Mark (Deborah) Troast; his daughter-in-law, Marjorie Troast; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces; and a nephew.
He was the proud grandfather of Meaghan (Joe) Ambrosio, Evan Troast, Brennan (Nicole) Harris, Zak (Melissa) Nestor, Kayla (Alexander) MacWilliam, Whitney Schramm, Bernard Schramm IV, Ragon Duke, Alex Duke, Katherine Troast, Eric (Grace) Troast, Olivia Troast, and Julia Troast; and great-grandfather of Vincent Ambrosio, Kennedy Nestor, Dane Nestor, Alexander “Penn” MacWilliam V, Benjamin Harris, and Oliver Harris.
He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and stories that will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Rin enjoyed playing golf well into his 80’s, and he was also very dedicated to Ascension Catholic Church.
Services will be held at Ascension Catholic Church, 2950 Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne, Florida on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 1:00 pm. A viewing will take place before the service, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
