0MaryAnn P Wood, 73, of Davenport, Florida passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011 and is now with the Lord in our greatest of magic kingdoms. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Beach Funeral Home on 1689 South Patrick Drive in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.
MaryAnn was born in Oneonta, NY to Squire and Catherine Perry on June 18, 1937. She grew up in Oneonta and attended and received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from the State University of New York College at Oneonta in 1959. She made her home in Syracuse, NY for nearly 30 years teaching at Jamesville Elementary School in Jamesville, NY.
MaryAnn retired in 1994 and moved to Orlando, Florida where she pursued her dream of working for Walt Disney World. During her time with Disney she became a member of the Candlelight choir and enjoyed performing during the holiday seasons for tourists at Epcot Center.
MaryAnn loved sports and was an avid Syracuse University football fan. She enjoyed people and dedicated her life to the service of others. Throughout her retirement she took pleasure in traveling with family and friends. She was most proud of her family and her greatest enjoyment in life came from supporting the accomplishments of her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ellen Coher and brothers Joseph Perry and William Perry. Survivors include her sister Margaret Young of Orville, WA; her son Bryan Wood and his wife Sharon, Altamont, NY; grandchildren Kristin and Patrick Wood; nieces Jeanne Bernard, Indian Harbor Beach, FL ; Maureen Pierce, Melbourne, FL ; AnnMargaretKatling, LosAngeles, CA; nephews James Coher, Syracuse, NY; Michael Young, Gifford, MN and brother-in-law Louis (Red) Coher, Satellite Beach, FL.
