Rita Patricia Wimmer

RITA PATRICIA ‘Trish” JULLIE FERRIS WIMMER passed away on September 8 2026. Trish was born in 1925 in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. She was an only child and in 1944 she married Robert Marshall Ferris a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army who was stationed in Australia. As an Army wife she lived many places around the globe. In 1981 following retirement they settled in Indialantic Florida. Robert passed away in 1987. She later remarried Reuben Wimmer who passed away in 1996.

Trish was an enthusiastic volunteer for numerous organizations both in the United States and Overseas. She involved in the Red Cross in Australia, Japan, and in New Jersey. She worked as a staff member at the Brevard Museum of Arts and Science. Her volunteer work included working with the League of Women Voters, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Therapy Dogs of South Brevard, and the Brevard Symphony Orchestra South Guild. Trish was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Melbourne.

Trish spent most of her free time with family, friends and her devoted little dogs. She was a great artist and had several of her paintings decorating her home. She enjoyed belonging to book clubs, making pottery, cooking, sewing, and gardening. Traveling was a passion of hers, enjoying all the enriching experiences she encountered.

Trish is survived by her daughter Jullie Ferris Sillin, grandson Nathaniel Borden Sillin, and her granddaughter Sarah Sillin and half brother Howard Armstrong Jullie. She was preceded in death by her son Robert Marshall Ferris II.

Funeral will be held October 1, 2026 in the chapel at Buena Vida.
