Robert James Ciancia

Robert Ciancia Sr., of New Jersey, passed away peacefully just before his 92nd birthday. He was born on July 31, 1934, in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

A devoted Catholic, Robert’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a faithful member of his church and lived each day guided by compassion, humility, and love for others. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, carrying that same sense of honor and dedication throughout his life.

Robert shared a beautiful love story with his beloved wife, Pauline. They met at a dance, fell in love, and spent the next 65 years together, building a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering devotion. Though he deeply missed Pauline after her passing four years ago, as well as his son, Robert Jr., he continued to cherish the family they created together.

He is lovingly survived by his son, Mark Ciancia, and his daughters, Maria Rider and Susan Livelli. He also leaves behind 12 cherished grandchildren and 5 adored great-grandchildren, all of whom knew him affectionately as “Pop” and “Great Pop.” His family will forever treasure the memories, laughter, and wisdom he shared.

Robert found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing, attending church, and spending time with his family. He was always tinkering with projects, fixing things with his hands, and bringing smiles to those around him with his wonderful sense of humor. His kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him.

One of 13 siblings, Robert, also leaves behind many devoted nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and will miss him greatly.

Among the many lessons Robert leaves behind, one will echo in the hearts of all who knew him. His favorite words were simple yet profound: “Be kind, be kind, be kind.” Those words reflected the way he lived his life and the legacy he leaves for his family and friends.

Robert’s unwavering faith, deep love for his family, and enduring kindness will be remembered always. Though he is reunited with his beloved Pauline and his son Robert Jr., his love, laughter, and gentle example will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Family and friends are welcome to attend on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community, 3050 N. Hwy A1A, Indialantic from 10:30 am until the time of the funeral mass at 11:00 am. following the mass there will be military honor provided by the U.S Navy Honor Guard.
