Roy Edward Cleveland

Oct 3, 1942 — Oct 25, 2026

Roy Edward Cleveland, of Melbourne, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 25, 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Roy was a man of remarkable character whose kindness and friendly spirit touched everyone who knew him.

Born in Hackleburg, Alabama, Roy grew up in Phil Campbell, Alabama before returning to Hackleburg, where he met the love of his life, Wilma "Jean" Cleveland. They married on February 15, 1964, and shared a loving marriage centered on faith, family, and mutual devotion.

Roy and "Jean" made their home in Rockford, Illinois, for 13 years, where they welcomed their children, Regina Cleveland, and Jeff Cleveland. The family later relocated to Sarasota, Florida. Roy retired after a 47-year career in electrical and maintenance work for Rexham Klockner Bartelt. In 2010, he moved to Melbourne to be closer to his son and his granddaughters, Emily and Elizabeth.

Roy’s greatest joy was his family. An extraordinary father and grandfather, he was always there for his children, offering wise advice, encouragement, and unconditional love. They knew they could turn to him whenever they needed guidance or support. His granddaughters held a special place in his heart, and being close to them was one of the greatest blessings of his life.

Those who knew Roy often spoke of what an amazing man he was—friendly, generous, and always willing to lend a hand. Whether helping a neighbor with a project, making a repair for a friend, or simply taking time to listen, he showed his character through the way he cared for others.

Alongside his devotion to family was his lifelong passion for Alabama football. A loyal Crimson Tide fan, Roy never missed a game and took great joy in cheering on his team.

Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Cleveland. He is survived by his daughter, Regina Cleveland; his son, Jeff Cleveland; his granddaughters, Emily and Elizabeth Cleveland; his brother, Mack Cleveland and sister-in-law Linda; and his younger brother, Phil Cleveland and sister-in-law, Marianne.

Roy was the father and grandfather any child could wish for. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. His legacy lives on in the values he shared, the kindness he showed, and the family he loved so dearly.

A private family visitation will be held at Beach Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will take place in December, with the date and times to be announced once arrangements have been finalized by the Cleveland Family.
