Roy Russell Hays

Russ Hays, 62, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 14, 2010, surrounded by his family. Russ was born on February 17, 1948 in Mt. Vernon, IL. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran who honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Upon his return home, he married his high school sweetheart, Judith Wagner. Russ enjoyed living overseas, traveling, playing golf at some of the world's most prestigious golf courses, his red Mustang, his Chihuahua, and especially spending time with his grandsons. Russ is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Judy; his children, Valerie Hays, Tracy and Chris Kroll; grandchildren, Zachary and Connor; parents, Roy and Vera Hays; sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Neal Morgan. Visitation will be held 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, October 18, 2010 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic, FL. Immediately following is a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Vietnam and All Veterans of Brevard, Veterans Transitional Facility, 700 E. Fee Avenue, Melbourne, Florida 32901.
