Ruth Ann Ager
Jul 30, 1939 — Aug 22, 2026
At 1:15 am on August 22, 2026, our Beloved Mom and Nanna went Home to meet her Savior. She was born on July 30, 1939, to Orville and Emma Himsel, in their family’s farmhouse in Verona, Wisconsin. She was one of six children.
She is survived by her faithful husband, Merlin Ager. They have been together since eighth grade. She is also survived by two daughters, Mindy (JP) Moreland and Debby (Joe) Hanssen, as well as two sisters, Laura Roethlisberger and Elsie (Stan) Carbaugh. She had three grandchildren that she adored: John-Paul (Trinten) Moreland, Abby Hanssen, and Jake Hanssen. Her kids and grandkids were her whole world. She spent lots of time with each of them and was always involved in their lives.
She was born and raised in Verona but spent most of her life in Cedarville, Ohio, where she loved to garden and bake the best rolls ever! She loved music, and she loved to volunteer at church and Cedarville schools. She was an amazing mother, Nanna, Auntie, and friend. She never knew a stranger, gave the best hugs, and loved unconditionally. She always had a servant’s heart…the heart of Jesus. Although we are saddened by our loss and will miss her terribly, we find peace in the hope and knowledge that she is in Heaven, and that we will see her again someday. She is in her new perfect body and is no longer suffering. For that we are so grateful. She is rejoicing with her family and friends that have gone before her, and we find our peace in that promise in the Bible: God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain. Revelation 21:4. Our dad’s wishes are to wait until he passes and then bring them both back to Cedarville to have a joint memorial service.
