Susan D Wever
Mar 16, 1944 — Aug 23, 2026
Susan (Sue) Wever passed away peacefully on Sunday August 23, 2026, reuniting with her husband of 54 years, CM Sgt Stuart James Wever, Ret.
Susan was 82 years old and a cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother, whose warmth touched everyone she met. She was born in Baltimore Maryland on a cold March day.
Ten years later the family moved to Miami Florida where a blind date introduced Sue to a young airman named Stuart - a meeting that shaped the rest of their lives.
Fast forward six years and four duty stations later, their family was complete: Stuart “Gregg” (Teresa), Dawn Marie, and Laura Beth (Rocco Bellotte). Through these three children, they were blessed with five grandchildren Candice (Jason Brady) Amanda Nicole (Ethan Hafey) Stu, Mackenzie Alexandra and Stephany Faith and three great grandchildren Hadley, JT and RJ. Each one a great source of pride and joy.
Once her children were all in school, Susan got her driver's license and began a career devoted to non-profit work, giving herself fully and generously to whatever cause was at hand. Over the following three duty stations, she organized fundraisers for the American Heart Association, the March of Dimes, the Space Coast Science Center, and the Non-Commissioned Officers Wives Group, always finding purpose in service to others.
When Stuart - known to many simply as "Chief" - retired completing 32 years of service, Susan was able to turn her hobby into a livelihood. After five years working alongside two local interior designers in Indian Harbour Beach, she and "the Chief" formed a business of their own, Sticks & Stems. For eighteen years, her hands created one original silk floral arrangement after another, and she traveled across the state helping people bring color, warmth, and beauty into their homes.
Susan found quiet joy in the simple pleasures of life: a good book, the rhythm of a crossword puzzle, a hard-fought game of Scrabble against her grandchildren, and an afternoon at the movies. Once she and Stuart had an inground pool built, their backyard became the heart of the family — filled with laughter, pool parties, barbecues, and the people she loved most, gathered close around her.
Susan will be laid to rest, alongside her husband, at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, together again as they were meant to be “always and forever”
