George F. Smith

With great sadness we are announcing the passing of George F. Smith on Sunday, May 17, 2026. He was loved by and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. George was predeceased by his wife Mary, and his daughter Debra. He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne. 

George grew up in New York, moved to New Mexico, and later to Florida. He served in the Air Force as an electronics technician and later used those skills to open his own TV sales and service shop which he ran for over 30 years. George and Mary later retired to Florida. With God’s grace George spent Mother’s Day with his daughter Suzanne, and son-in-law Don, enjoying Chinese food and cheesecake. 

He will be truly missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Our Saviour’s Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach, Florida at 9:00am followed by interment with his wife, Mary, at the Veterans National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida at 1:30pm. 

The family asks that in leu of flowers donations be sent to the Brevard Humane Society or the MOAACC Good Deeds Foundation.
