Helen Merry Moisand
Dec 24, 1942 — Apr 26, 2023
Helen Merry Moisand passed away on April 26, 2023, with all three of her children present after a long battle with a series of health issues. Born in Chicago on Christmas Eve 1942, she was 80 years old.
After a brief career as a teacher, Helen became a full-time mother in 1967, a role she performed very well. She was more than happy to be a key influence in the lives of her children. Anyone who knows them knows that she was always there making sure her children had all they needed to become good people and have fulfilling lives. That’s all that ever truly mattered to her.
She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well. She could not get enough of visiting with them and seeing their smiling faces in photos as they grew.
She also made time just to have fun. At various points she enjoyed tennis, crafts, playing bridge with friends and bowling with her team in Satellite Beach, The Rolling Stones. In her later years, her favorite activity was family gatherings, especially if games were involved. She found great enjoyment captaining the winning team in Family Feud on her 80th birthday.
While Helen tried to remain active in her retirement, caring for and ultimately losing her husband Brian in 2018 was a blow. Her family grieves her loss, but they take comfort knowing that Helen and Brian are together again. Helen will be interred next to him at Canaveral National Cemetery after a family service in July. They are survived by their son Dan, daughters Laura and Michelle, grandchildren Megan, Joshua, Jill, Casey, Jake, and Sofia and great-grandchildren Aiden, Ava, and Rhett.
