Capt. Robert "Bob" Edward Morrissey, 83, of Rockledge, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026. He was born on February 27, 1943, in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

A graduate of Maine Maritime Academy, Capt. Morrissey devoted 35 years to the Merchant Marine, including more than 25 years with the Panama Canal Commission, where he retired as a pilot and Port Captain. He loved to travel, enjoyed socializing, and cherished the many friendships he made and the memories he created throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Frances; his daughter, Tristan, and son-in-law, Craig; his son, Sean, and daughter-in-law, Angelica; his grandchildren, Haley, Alex, Jillian, Jake, Camryn, Nathan, Parker, and Cole; and his great-granddaughter, Harlow.

Capt. Morrissey was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Keri.

Bob will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His love, laughter, wit, warmth, and sense of humor will remain with them, carried forward through the memories they shared and the family he loved so dearly.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Merritt Island, Florida, at 10:00 a.m. on October 15, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider making a donation to a charity of your choice in Bob’s memory.
