In loving memory of Frank Augustus Badger

Frank Augustus Badger passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 17, 2026, in Melbourne, Florida. Born on June 6, 1941, to Maurice and Kathryn Badger in Canandaigua, New York. Frank was born into a large family filled with faith, strength, and love giving a strong foundation that he would use throughout his life with others.

In his early years he attended St. Mary’s Roman Catholic School where his faith inspired him to join St Alberts Jr. Seminary High school in Middleton, New York. This is where Frank found his voice and love for singing in the choir and especially “Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ra’ (That’s an Irish Lullaby) to his children and grandchildren. After leaving the seminary he attended St. John Fisher College of Rochester, New York before being drafted into the United States Army in 1963. Following his honorable discharge from the Army he returned to St. John Fisher College to continue his education and graduate with a bachelor's degree of science which led him to the lifelong career of insurance and the financial planning business. This passion for working with people started in Syracuse, New York and then landed him in Grand Rapids Michigan where he found the love of his life Kathleen.

Frank was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Kathleen of 33 years. Together they built a beautiful home filled with love and laughter, long talks over coffee, traveling, special time with family and friends, dedication to their faith, and the shared love of their special place, the Bayview Inn in Petosky Michigan.

He had a way of sharing his unique gifts naturally with anyone he came in contact with and making others feel cared for, supported, making time to listen, accepted, and most of all loved unconditionally. He could light up a room with his kindhearted smile and boisterous contagious laugh. He loved a good meal with some cocktails reminiscing about the lifelong stories of his past and was always up for a good time.

Frank found his love for baseball in his early childhood days where he played ball on the corner park with his brothers and neighborhood friends. He was a dedicated fan to the New York Yankees. He said often” I would play baseball all day and every day if I could have.” This competitive nature that he had was not only on the ball field but carried out in family reunion card games, ping pong, bowling, golf outings, and anything with his brothers but especially running marathons. This strong quality to not give up lives on in his children and grandchildren where he taught the ruthless game of Monopoly with no mercy filled with laughter during these memorable times.

His presence, laughter, and loving spirit will be greatly missed. The memories he created, the joy he shared with those around him, and the love he gave will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Frank is predeceased by parents Maurice and Kathryn, brothers Rich, Tom, Al, Neil and his sister Kathryn Maureen (Neen). He is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen: brother Martin (Mary): his children Maureen (Chris), Bob (Mel), Amber, Mike, Jim, Dori (Kasey): his grandchildren: Codey (Nina), Olivia, Alex (Arie), Noah, Mary, Leo, Casper: his great-grandson Everett, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass celebrating Frank’s life will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 5655 Stadium Parkway, Melbourne, Florida 32940 on October 7th at 11:00 am. A luncheon will immediately follow the mass where the family and friends will gather to share memories celebrating Frank’s life.
