Kenneth Leroy Worden

"Melbourne, FL/Wayland, NY", Kenneth “Leroy” Worden was born in Bath NY on December 27, 1944. He passed away after a brief illness on September 1, 2026.

Ken is survived by his bride of 61 years, Bonnie Dean Worden and his children Michelle (Cary) Meyer and Michael Worden, grandsons Alec (Myra) Worden and Blaine Worden, great grandchildren Bailey and Kyler, sisters in law Carol Worden and Pam (Ken) Selbig and brothers in law Terry Dean, Tom (Betty Jean) Dean, and Jim (Marie) Dean. He’s also survived by many loved nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Additionally, Ken is survived by half siblings Larry, Jane, James and Christine Dale, Joan Hastings, Judy Goodman, Marie Powell, and Wanda Webster.

Ken is predeceased by his mother Alberta, stepfather Elwyn Dale, brother Dell and sister Delores, his sister and brother-in-law Paul and Gail Hancin, and his mother and father-in-law Helen and Gerald Dean.

Ken retired from Eastman Kodak in 1998 after 32 years.

He was very active in coaching youth sports, particularly football and wrestling. As a founding member of the WAWC (Wayland Area Wresting Club), he helped to establish the wrestling program in the Wayland Cohocton School District. In 2000, he was inducted into the WC Wrestling Hall of Fame. Additionally, Ken was an active member of his community including his community drama club.

Ken’s favorite thing was spending time with his family and friends, many of whom joined him and Bonnie during their many travels. He will be fondly remembered by them for his sense of humor and his unique vocabulary (earning himself a “Leroy dictionary”).

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
