Lt. Col (Ret) Robert "Bob" Marcan
Nov 27, 1941 — Jul 24, 2026
Lt. Col. (Ret.) Robert “Bob” Marcan completed his final tour of duty on July 24, passing away at home surrounded by his beloved family after an extended battle with cancer.
Bob had a distinguished, 20-year career as a U.S. Air Force Security Forces officer. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his service in the Vietnam War. Also awarded the AF Commendation Medal and Meritorious Service Medals with four oak leaf clusters.
He was stationed at March AFB in CA when he met the love of his life, Yvette, who was an Air Force nurse. They married in 1973 and embarked on many adventures together, including assignments to Germany and Spain. His last station was Patrick AFB, after which he retired to spend time with Yvette and their three sons. Bob also worked at L3Harris as a Manager in the Security Dept.
Bob enjoyed going fishing on his boat, always releasing his catches. He especially loved spending time with his family, watching the kids at their sports events, going on cruises and their yearly timeshare trips to Longboat Key.
Left to cherish Bob’s memory is his loving wife, Yvette, who cared for him during his extended illness; his twin sons, Jeffrey and Patrick; grandchildren Bradley, Callie and Hunter; brother Jim his daughter Lindsay Clark and grandson Jake. He was predeceased by his oldest son, Todd, from a previous marriage; son Matthew; grandson Brandon; sister Patricia and brothers Tom and Bill.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to Bob’s medical staff and the Health First Hospice team, for their care and compassion.
There will be a funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Viera at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warriors Project
