Richard Dennis Roberts

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Dennis Roberts, age 77, of Key West, Florida, who passed away on August 7, 2026.Born on February 20, 1949, in Key West, Florida, Richard was the beloved son of Robert and Helen Roberts. He grew up in Key West and became a highly skilled and respected carpenter, known for his exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to his trade.

Richard was a devoted husband to Susan for 50 years and a loving father to Holli Averette, Vicky Flynn, Holly Schaber, and Jeremy Parker.

He was especially known for his phenomenal work as a finish carpenter and took great pride in every project he completed. Above all, Richard found his greatest joy in spending time with his family and friends.

Richard is survived by his wife, Susan Roberts; his children, Holli Averette (David), Vicky Flynn (David), Holly Schaber (Ed), and Jeremy Parker (Kathryn); and his cherished grandchildren, Alexys Bess, Bailye Flynn, Jericho Parker, John Parza, and Kyra Parza.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen Roberts, and his sister, Sally Roberts.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Key West. Family and friends will be notified of the arrangements when they are finalized.

Though he will be deeply missed, Richard’s love, wisdom, and spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
