Commander Robert Ned Stair USNR (Ret.), age 100, of Titusville, Florida, formerly of Edina, MN, passed away on June 21, 2026.

Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Nancy (Nelson) Stair, sharing 73 years of loving and joyous marriage.

Survived by their three children: Robbie (Nancy Smith) Stair of Baycity, WI; David (Scott Anderson) Stair of Titusville, FL; and Carolyn and son-in-law Philip Borchardt of St. Paul, MN; three grandchildren Richard P. (Michelle) Borchardt, Craig R. Borchardt, and Alena Stair; plus, eight great-grandchildren: Jyles, Anthony, Ayden, Charlotte, Henry, Myer, Cameron, and Abrielle; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was born February 17, 1926, and raised in Kansas City, MO. He enlisted in the Navy ROTC in 1944 and received his commission in 1946. His education by the Navy included Park College, MO; Notre Dame, IN; and UCLA, CA. He received his wings in March 1950. Bob and Nancy were married on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1948. They were stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii; Pensacola, FL; and Oakland, CA. His long and distinguished career as a Navy pilot was the other great joy of his life. Bob entered the Naval Reserve in 1960. Bob and Nancy lived in Prairie Village, KS, then Edina, MN, for 38 years where he worked for Montgomery Ward, and owned several dry-cleaning stores. He was a member of the Masons and the Shriners. Bob and Nancy moved to Florida in 1996, and he was a member of RMGS Patrick Air Force Base, Suntree Methodist Church, and Empty Nest Sunday School.

Full military honors will be held at a private interment at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on August 3rd, 2026, at 11am. Please arrive at least 15-30 minutes prior to lane A for the procession to the shelter.
