Barbara Lee Lewis
Dec 14, 1932 — Jul 10, 2017
Barbara was born to Walter and Evelyn Baechler on Dec 14, 1932 in Seattle and passed away peacefully in her sleep at age 84 on July 10, 2017 in Edmonds to be with her Lord. She was a loving mother, sister, grandma, great grandma, aunt and friend. She had many varied careers as bookkeeper, waitress, bartender, and financial aid caseworker. She was a longtime active member of St. Mark Catholic Church and St. Vincent de Paul. She regularly volunteered to help those in need. Her all-time favorite hobby was her family who she enjoyed hosting a myriad of gatherings and events in her home. She was so proud of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and would attend as many events as possible. She was a challenging Pinochle and Scrabble player and looked forward to game nights with her family. She enjoyed the sunshine in Hawaii and the sibling get-togethers in Ocean Shores. Barbara is predeceased by three sisters: Sherrie Coleman, Marilyn Urstad, and Patricia Anderson. She is survived by siblings: Rose Langford and Michael Baechler (Jennifer); children: Gary Lewis (Denise), David Lewis (Dana), Debi Loyd (Steve), Lori Davis, Shari Arnesen (David) and Dan Lewis (Priscilla); 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Barbara is dearly missed by her loved ones who know she is at peace with God. She will be remembered as a beautiful soul, a kind and giving woman with a ready smile, and for her quick laugh, sea foam, and funny slippers. The family would like to thank the Aegis caregivers for their dedication and care. Memorial remembrances may be donated to St Vincent de Paul.
