Edmonds, WA – Bertha May Gallagher died peacefully November 2, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. Bertha was born Dec 1, 1942 to Paul and Emma “Bertha” Hayes in Pueblo, Colorado. She was the 9th of 10 children in a close-knit Catholic household. She attended Christ the King School, and graduated in 1961 from Blanchet High School in Seattle. On January 27, 1962 she married the love of her life, Lewis Gallagher at Christ the King Parish in Seattle. They raised 8 children in Edmonds, Washington. Bertha was a generous spirit and loved her family unconditionally. Her love of God and her Catholic faith were foremost in her life, all the way to her final breath. She will be greatly missed by so many, including her siblings, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Bertha is survived by her children, Emma Harter, Sharon Milligan, Toni Santiago, Patty (Alan) Tetrault, Jackie Edwards, Andy (Tanya) Gallagher, and Candice Hendricksen. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Wayne, her beloved son Lewis Jr., her grandsons Eric and Tim Milligan, and her sons-in-law Daniel Hendricksen and Daniel Harter. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Bertha will be laid to rest at Holyrood Cemetery, with a graveside service with her immediate family in attendance.
