Brooke Louise Townsend
Mar 18, 1936 — Jul 5, 2013
Brooke Louise Townsend, 77, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2013 at her home in Edmonds, Washington. She was born on March 18, 1936 in New York to Charlotte Ralls Burns and Hubert Force Townsend. Brooke Louise Townsend was sassy. Sometimes, exceptionally so. Even in her final days, she was sharp and smart-mouthed, and knew exactly what she wanted. She enjoyed playing bridge since a time when playing bridge was for the cool kids, and even in recent years, Brooke made it pretty cool. She was an excellent deal-finder, and appreciated candy, movies, and spending time with her friends. Shed worked for many years at Qwest Communications, as well as Harborview Medical Center as a MHS. She was devoted to volunteering, and did so for Fred Hutchinson and the Edmonds Police Department for many years. For this, and countless other details, she will be missed. She is survived by her brother, Lance Burns, and her children Durell Herman, Alicia Matthiesen, and Myron Herman, and preceded in death by son Brett Herman. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
