Carolyn Capalbi Bell

Carolyn Capalbi Bell passed away suddenly on August 31st, 2026 with her loving husband, Gary Bell by her side. She was born in 1950 on Staten Island, New York to Salvatore Micheal Capalbi and Charlotte Bruzy.

For her primary and secondary education she attended St. Dorothy’s School and Notre Dame Academy on Staten Island. For college she attended Wagner College, completed her B.A. in English at the University of Tampa, and a master's in Special Education at California State University in Fresno, California. She taught special education for the state of California (Fresno) and in Washington State for the Lake Washington school district and Edmonds school district. Carolyn spent her life in service to others.

She was loved and cherished by many. She will be remembered for her humor, generosity, and passions such as singing, dancing, reading, gardening, kayaking, love of teaching and animals. She was the best mother in the world and grandmother in the whole world to Reiyen and James. She is deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Bell of Leavenworth, WA, mother Charlotte Garzone of Carmel Valley, CA, sister Marian Downs of Carmel Valley, CA; children Timothy Keller of Mountlake Terrace, WA and Meredith Keller of Albuquerque, NM; stepchildren Anne Bell of Lake Stevens, WA and Richard Bell of Edmonds, WA. She is also survived by her two loving grandchildren Reiyen and James, nephew Brian Downs, and Carolyn’s many friends.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life on October 11, 2026, at the Edmonds Plaza Room 650 Main Street, Edmonds, WA 98020 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
