Charles Delotter Bright

Lt. Col. Charles DeLotter Bright, Ph.D., M.B.A. World War II Eighth Army Air Force lead B-17 navigator, Charlie Bright, 92, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 in Kirkland. He survived his first wife, Heidi. He is survived by his second wife, June; 19 children; 27 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Bright flew fighter jets during the Korean War, became an F-86 SabreJet fighter weaponry instructor, commanded an air base, and streamlined NATO operations. An MIT, Harvard Business School, and Kansas State graduate, Dr. Bright was a professor in the business department at Southwestern College. He went on to found and chair the highly successful business and economics department at Mt. St. Clare College in Clinton, Iowa. Bright was an historical aviation author. Charlie loved his family, traveling, and photography.
