Clifford Lee Green

Clifford L. Green, formerly of Marin County, CA, prior to moving to Edmonds, WA, died October 6, 2008. Cliff was born in Whitman, NE. He was a Veteran of World War II having served from 1941 to 1945. Later as a Merchant Marine, he supported the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts and received the Navy Unit Commendation for meritorious service during Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Desert Sortie. Beginning in 1980 Cliff worked for the Dept. of the Navy Military Sealift Command as a Damage Control Officer. He was the Range Master/Safety Officer for the Naval Air Station, Alameda Small Arms Range and conducted shipboard Firefighting classes at the Naval Technical Training Center, Treasure Island, CA. Mr. Green also conducted these training sessions and Command Inspections aboard Naval ships and carriers at sea. This often required that he be dropped by helicopter onto the carriers and be catapulted by jet off the carriers upon completion of his assignments. He retired in 1996. Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Marcel Green, daughter Tara Hutchisson-Langer and son Brian Patrick Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 28, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 630 7th Ave. N, Edmonds, WA. Interment with full military honors will follow @ 2:30 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery Kent, WA. The family wishes to thank Paul Allen, M.D, the ICU nurses, and aides at Stevens Hospital for their care and compassion.
