Coy Manuel Wilson

Coy M Wilson was born on December 30, 1921 and passed away July 31, 2014. Dad was recently diagnosed with Gastric cancer and had sussful surgery on June 30. He tried hard to recover, but the good Lord decided to take him home.One of 13 children, he was born in Krebs, Oklahoma to his parents, Joda R and Agnes B Wilson. At 17, he left home from Rolla, Mo and hitchhiked and hopped freight trains across country following Route 66. He worked on Grand Coulee Dam and later he met the love of his life, Edna Bertina. They were married August 29, 1941 in Seattle and would have celebrated their 73 rd anniversary this year.He raised his family primarily in Edmonds, WA. He was a wonde, caring, Christian man that was always there for his family. He took care of Mom his whole life and always put her first. He believed in never going to bed angry and their marriage showed us how to love one another.They had 4 children: Barbara Thomas (husband, Robert ), Richard (Dick) Wilson (wife, Kendy Sue), Debbie Williamson (husband, Randy), Karen Tabaka (husband, Wesley); 9 grandchildren: Gary Thomas (wife, Cindy), Tami Waldron (husband, Travis), Tara Sanderson (husband, Jerry), Bryan Thomas (wife, Jme), Jaclyn Reifsnyder (husband, Jeremy), Jennifer Richards (husband, Ben), Amber Thai (husband, Michael), Seth Tabaka (wife, Shannon) Sarah Tabaka; and 10 great grandchildren: Jessica, Robert, Jacob, Nathan, Elijah, Nateli, Coy, Cooper, Freya and Owen.He proudly served our country in World War II in the Army as a Staff Sergeant in the Transportation Corp in the Philippines Korea.Dad owned his own barbershop for many years in the Ballinger Shopping center in Mountlake Terrace. He was a salesman selling Electrolux and Viking sewing machines. He worked hard his whole life taking care of his own home and yard until recently.Love lives in our heart forever, he will always be the best husband, father, grandfather great grandfather anyone could ask for. A good Edmonds neighbor said, 95 th Place West has lost another good one. She was right. Please remember our mother, Edna, in your prayers in this difficult time.
