Daniel Jason Hopkins

Oct 12, 1956 — Sep 13, 2015

Daniel J. Hopkins passed away on Sunday, September 13, after Alzheimers struck its final blow. Dan, 58, was born and raised in Seattle. He attended Northgate Elementary and graduated from Ingraham High School, where he lettered in football. Growing up he loved the outdoors spending his time fishing, scuba diving, football and riding his dirt bike. Dan and Lisa met in middle school but didnt date until after graduation. They married in 1980 and moved to Edmonds. That same year he began his business, Hill Machine Headworks in Ballard. Working in Ballard his business grew as did his good reputation as a talented Gas and Diesel Machinist. He had customers from all across the country. Dans greatest joy was the births of his sons. He loved being a father, sharing everything he knew with his boys, and watching them grow into the men they are today. Dan had many friends across generations and occupations and he was always willing to go out of his way when his help was needed. His passing leaves a big hole in the lives of many. Dan leaves behind Lisa his wife of 35 years, his son Jason and his wife Jenelyn and their daughters Genesis, Abeni and Ehlleerose; his son Michael his wife Tiffanie and their golden retriever, Mollie. Alzheimers took so much of Dan in the past 6 or 7 years; it is comforting for us all to know that he is now whole, standing next to a river fishing with his friend Ernie while his three dogs by his side.
