Daniel Lindsay Kier

Dan Kier was born February 14, 1975, in Seattle, Washington. He died July 9, 2012, at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Washington.Dan was preceded in death by his father, Francis L. Chuck Kier and his grandparents, Harold Lenore Crowder, Anna Marie Prestella and Homer L. Kier.Dan grew up in Mountlake Terrace and attended St. Pius X School. He was an Altar Server and a member of Boy Scout Troup 60, and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Bishop Blanchet High School in Seattle. Dan earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Shoreline Community College. He was a member of the Mountlake Terrace Police Explorers.Dan was employed at Safeway for nearly 20 years and also as a Reserve Police Officer for the City of Lynnwood for a short while. Most recently Dan was employed at the Boeing Company in Everett.Dan has lived in Snohomish for several years and was active in his community. He coached baseball for North Snohomish Little League. He coached basketball and was a member of the Watchdogs at Riverview Elementary School. He was a member of the American Legion Post 96.Dan enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hiking, camping and hunting. He encouraged family and friends to stop by and hang out at his home. He enjoyed cooking for them especially barbecues in the summer and holiday dinners. Dan tried bull riding; but, decided breeding and raising beef cattle suited him better.Dan is survived by his mother, Alice; his sister, Kelley; his precious children, Johnny and Kimmy; his fiance, Erin Putman; his nephews, Brandon Delaney and Payton Haggett; and his father figure Larry Herres; and many good friends.
