Darlene M Nelson

Darlene M. Nelson was born September 11, 1931 in the town of Voss, ND and left us on October 24, 2020. She was married to James M. Nelson on November 11, 1950 until he passed on December 27, 2009. She had 9 children. Ronald, Victoria, and Brenda are deceased, but Carla, Marc, Jodi, Jayme, Tammy and David are still in good health and their families. Darlene had 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She also had 3 sisters whom she loved dearly and kept in close contact. Darlene worked at Ballard Hospital for over 30 years in Housekeeping and was a homemaker to a growing and active brood of children. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, when she moved to Seattle in the Wallingford District in 1961. Darlene was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and especially visiting with people. One could drop in on her at any time of the day and she would enjoy a nice visit with you and give warm, motherly advice if needed. She will be greatly missed but we are glad to have enjoyed her for so long. We would ask that instead of sending flowers to please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.
