David A. Bartholomew passed away January 4, 2017, at his home in Bothell, WA. He was born in Bellingham, Washington to George and Norine Bartholomew on November 3, 1935. David is survived by his wife Greta; their three children: Paul, Cathy and husband Jim; Michael and wife Peg; grandchildren: Dan, Jackie, and Jamie; and nieces and nephews in Ireland and England; and countless other family and friends from around the world. Dave was a Retired Naval Reserve Captain who rose through the active duty enlisted ranks to the rank of Senior Chief before becoming an officer in the Naval Reserves. After active duty, and while in the Reserves, he worked for ELDEC and Honeywell Micro Switch designing proximity switches for the aerospace industry. David was a true modern renaissance man with interests ranging from writing, genealogy, aviation, history, and traveling, to amateur (ham) radio, computer technology, tall sailing ships, music of all types, and reading anything he could get his hands on. David was passionate about his family, friends, church, Right to Life, military issues, and especially, the Las Plumas writing group. The Funeral Mass and recn will be at 11:00 AM, February 9, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 22209 58th Ave. W, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043. Inurnment will be at Holyrood Cemetery 205 NE 205th St., Shoreline, WA 98155 following the service and recn.Becks Funeral Home has an online memorial page set up for Dave.
