David John Heringer

David Heringer passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, at the age of 74.

David was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by

his beloved wife, Kathleen; his children, Daniel (Marissa), Stephanie (Scott), and Michelle (Mike); and

his five cherished grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to his life.


David will be remembered for his warm heart, gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and remarkable

patience. He had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and he approached life with

generosity, humility, and a genuine concern for others. Whether helping a neighbor, lending a hand to a

friend, or sharing a story with family, David's presence brought comfort and joy to those around him.

A man of many talents and adventures, David lived a full and hardworking life. His school career

included attending college for forestry. He began his working career as a ride operator for the

Woodland Park Zoo. After proudly served as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Navy, he worked

as an automotive mechanic at Sears, helped build airplanes for Boeing, and spent years delivering fish

throughout the Pacific Northwest with Pacific Seafood. Whatever the job, David approached it with

dedication, skill, and pride in a job well done.


David also possessed a deeply creative spirit. He found joy in working with his hands and creating

beautiful things, whether through woodworking, stained glass, or photography. He appreciated

craftsmanship in all its forms and was always eager to take on a new project or learn a new skill. David

also enjoyed cheering on his favorite local sports teams and sharing those moments with family and

friends. His creativity, curiosity, and enthusiasm for life inspired those around him and brought color,

beauty, and laughter into everyday moments.


Above all, David treasured his family and the relationships he built throughout his life. His legacy lives

on in the love he shared, the values he passed on, and the countless lives he touched through his

kindness, patience, and generosity.


A Funeral Mass celebrating David's life will be held at 11:00 AM on August 6th at Assumption Catholic

Church in Seattle, the church where his faith journey began. Following the Mass, a burial ceremony will

be held at 1:30 PM at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline.

David will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of his family and

friends.
