Earl E. Baer, 86, passed away on October 12, 2014 at Clare Bridge of Lynnwood, WA. He was born in Aberdeen, WA to Earl and Rose Duncan Baer. Earl grew up in Port Angeles, WA but remained close to his Aberdeen cousins. He attended St. Martins in Lacey, Washington for both high school and college. He then joined the Air Force and retired achieving the rank of Major. He taught marketing at Highline Community College for 22 years before retiring in 1989. He was an accomplished author having published three textbooks. Earl married Helen in 1955 in Spokane, WA. They were happily married for 59 years. Earl was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church choir. He enjoyed gardening, listening to Mariner and Seahawk games, swimming in the family pool, music, and spending time with his family. Earl was preceded in death by his father Earl, mother Rose, step father Chet, and daughter Kathy. Earl is survived by his spouse Helen of Shoreline, WA; his sons Daniel (Pamela) Baer of Seattle, WA, and Craig (Trish) Baer of Lynnwood, WA, his daughters Molly (Sten) Nelson of Seattle, WA, Mary Claire (Jeff) Gegen of Walla Walla, WA, and Joan (Brian) Geppert of Everett, WA, his brother Ted (Marilyn) Baer of Tacoma, WA, his grandchildren Matthew Nelson of New York, NY, Ryan Nelson of Seattle, WA, Billiant and Simeon Baer of Seattle, WA, Elliot and Dominic Gegen of Walla Walla, WA, Julia and Natalie Geppert of Everett, WA, two cousins Don Duncan of Tacoma and Sally Kerns of Federal Way, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be held at Becks Funeral Home (405 5 th Ave South, Edmonds, WA) at 7 pm on October 21, 2014. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church (18033 15 th Pl NE, Shoreline, WA) at 11 am October 22, 2014. The family invites friends and relatives to join them for a reception in the parish hall immediately following mass. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Angelorum Pregnancy Services, 17602 Hwy 99, Suite 170, Lynnwood, WA 98037 or Northwest Harvest, P.O. Box 12272, Seattle, WA 98102.
