Elaine Dorothy (Fonder) Norton, age 89, died peacefully April 10 th surrounded by her family. Elaine was born August 11, 1924 in Sisseton, South Dakota. At age 18 she married her best friend and the love of her life, Dan Burr Norton. Their marriage of 57 years ended at his death in 1998. Dan and Elaine met while both were traveling to Washington State from South Dakota. This chance meeting lead to a strong friendship, shared faith, marriage, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Overall their lives together encompassed all of the ups and downs however their dedication to family and one another remained until death separated them. Elaine is survived by her three children; Daniel B. Norton (wife Patricia) Stephen Robert Norton; and Janelle Norton Neil (husband Bradford). Her grandchildren: Heather (Chad) Kulper, Jennifer Norton and great granddaughter Stella Kulper; Stephen Norton and his family Tasha, Shane, Rhen and Cayla Zable and great grandson, Ryder; and Jerry and Kimberly Neil. Her goals in life were to serve God, love and raise her family and lovingly help everyone who entered her life. In this she amply succeeded. Her life was full to overflowing and all who knew her were blessed. During her long and fruitful life, Elaine and Burr enjoyed family, traveling, dancing and their friends at Issaquah Highlands Camping Club. Following Burrs death Elaine continued being active in her church, the Edmonds Senior Center, playing cards with her lady friends, and spending time with her dear friends, the Happy Huggers, at the Edmonds Senior Center. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Burr, their first child, Gerald; her parents and twelve siblings. Although Elaine and Burr were never able to bring Gerald home form the hospital, theyre now together in Heaven. Elaines earthly remains will be placed and forever rest with Gerald.
