Grace Elvira Liscom
February 11, 1926 — June 2, 2026
Grace Elvira Liscom was born on February 11, 1926, in Devils Lake North Dakota. She died on June 2, 2026, at her home in Shoreline WA. After growing up on the farm in Brockett ND, she moved to Seattle where she met and married her husband Ken on April 14,1956. They were married 70 years. To this union, three children were born; Mark, Renee’ and Matt. Grace stayed home and cared for her children until she began working at Shoreline High School breakfast program, then took on accounting work for Cornish School of Music, Shoreline Community College, and Highland Refrigeration. She was active at church helping out with Children’s choirs, Alter Guild, luncheons and quilting. Grace was a relentless hard worker. She brought fierce determination and drive to her pursuits and goals. She wanted her children to thrive making sacrifices so they could pursue their passions. “Do you need any money?" were her parting words when family visited. Grace could see value in what other people often overlooked, a tossed-out cupboard, rusty chair, and most importantly people in her community. She loved to shop and drive a hard bargain. She was known for her classy, unique clothing, vast quantities of cookies and the best pie crusts. Survivors include her husband Ken, brother Grant Eidsness, sons Mark and Matt Liscom, daughter Renee’ Morgan (Claude), grandchildren Kirk (Carissa) Liscom, Kyle (Sauren) Liscom, Rachel Morgan (Ben), Carly Alling (Zach), Andrew Liscom, Nathan Liscom (Sophia), along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
The Old Rugged Cross
On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suff’ring and shame,
And I love that old cross where the Dearest and Best
For a world of lost sinners was slain. So, I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.
Oh, that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left his glory above,
To bear it to dark Calvary.
In the old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see;
For ‘‘twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.
John 15:12
