Harold Dwane Huddleston

Sep 25, 1920 — Feb 26, 2021

On February 26, 2021, we lost our strength, our pillar, our dad, Harold “HUD” Huddleston at age 100. He was born on September 25, 1920, in Huron, South Dakota to Muriel (Rowan) and Alva “Eddie” Huddleston. After high school, Dad moved to the Seattle area and married his high school sweetheart, our mom, Mary E. Kenny at St James Cathedral. Together they raised twelve children, Mark, Diane, Joe, Tommy, Steve, Bob, Kathryn Ann, Carol, Paul, Theresa, John and Jeannie along with several grandchildren. After serving in the Pacific during WWII, he had several jobs and eventually settled as a supervisor for the Boeing Company. Anything he did, he excelled. In high school, he played basketball and football and later in life, picked up bowling where he was top bowler in the senior league. He bowled well into his 90s. He had a strong work ethic and he instilled that quality into his children and grandchildren. He loved to use his hands and spent much of his free time with mom refinishing old furniture, remodeling houses and building houses. He liked working w/stone and rock on his houses and landscaping and you can find that signature touch on many of the houses he built in the Puget Sound area. Dad was proud of his children and grandchildren and we were proud to call him Dad/Grandpa. We couldn’t have asked for a better dad. He will be sorely missed, but we find comfort he is once again reunited with his wife, Mary, who passed away in 2016, along w/his sons Steve (1989) and Tommy (1949). We love you Dad.
