Ida Angiolini Checca

Ida Checca, 92, of Edmonds WA, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2011. Ida was born in Schenectady NY on April 10, 1919 to Antonio Angiolini and Beatrice Palmieri. She was the youngest girl in a family of 6 children. She married Verbeno Checca in 1946. He preceded her in death in 2004. She was a devoted daughter, caring for her parents in her home until their deaths; a loving mother to her children and a devoted grandmother and great grandmother. She was a loyal friend who always had time for someone else, whether to solve problems, give advice, provide physical assistance or just share a moment. One of her greatest talents was baking. She was renown for her pastries and wedding cakes. She was a perfectionist when it came to her art and each cake left her hands as a representation of the person receiving it. She could cook anything and she frequently did for friends and family. She never wasted a moment of her life; being busy from the time she awoke until the time she went to bed many hours later. When she moved to Edmonds in 2002 she immediately made friends, who have loved her like their own mother and have supported her during good times and bad. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
