Jane Elizabeth Vanni

Jane Elizabeth (Fischer) Vanni passed away peacefully in Seattle, Washington on New Years Day surrounded by family and friends. Born on March 5, 1957, Jane spent her playful childhood years on the family farm near Warren, Minnesota. Her family later moved to East Grand Forks, Minnesota where she attended high school and was active in music, varsity volleyball, cheerleading, Jobs Daughters, and many other activities. Post high school, Jane attended The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979. Directly after graduation Jane, always the adventurer, packed up her car and with a couple college girlfriends headed to Seattle, Washington where she quickly fell in love with the city, the ocean, the mountains, and a wide circle of new friends.In 1985, Jane married Dennis Vanni who became her life-long friend and partner. Jane spent her professional career alongside her husband in the produce business. For the past 20 years, both worked at Charlies Produce of Seattle.Wherever Jane was, her joyful, fun-loving spirit created lasting friendships and today there are hundreds of people who mourn her loss. Jane had numerous interests including music (she could sing most Broadway songs), cooking, gardening, fishing, decorating, travel and quiet times at her Bothell, Washington home with her husband, Dennis, and their two rescue dogs, Chance and Oreo. Jane traveled often with her husband and friends to Palm Springs, New York City, Mexico and Minnesota, and she often spent sunny summer weekends with friends in Chelan, Washington. Wherever Jane traveled, her primary passion was always her love for family, friends and animals.Jane was preceded in death by her parents David and Pearl Fischer of Warren and East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Jane is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Vanni of Bothell, Washington; her siblings David (Andrea), Susan, Mary Kay (Leonard), Sally; her mother-in-law Edna (Billie) Vanni; brother-in-law Dick (Yvonne); sister-in-law Linda; nine nieces and nephews; four great nieces and nephews; and a wide circle of friends whose lives have been changed forever because they had the great fortune to experience her love and share her joy-filled life. An informal memorial service celebrating Janes life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Becks Funeral Home in Edmonds, Washington.Janes family and friends are grateful for the kindness and skilled medical care she received at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and the University of Washington Medical Center.
